What is root canal treatment?
Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is a treatment method applied in case of infection or damage to the nerves inside the tooth.
In root canal treatment, the vessels and nerves inside the tooth are removed. The tooth canal is shaped and filled with blood.

What are the symptoms of teeth requiring root canal treatment?

Swelling of the face or gums due to abscess formation
Darkening and discoloration of the tooth due to the death of the nerves of the tooth
Infections seen at the root tip after X-ray extraction in teeth that do not give any symptoms

1. Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is applied around the tooth so that no pain is felt during the procedure.
2. Opening access: A hole is drilled through the top of the tooth and the pulp is exposed.
3. Pulp removal: The infected or damaged pulp is carefully removed with special instruments.
4. Root canals cleaning: The root canals are cleaned, enlarged and disinfected with special files.
5. Canal filling: The cleaned and shaped root canals are filled with a special filling material.
6. Restoration: After the root canal treatment is completed, a protective filling or crown is placed over the tooth.
